William Temple

“To worship is to quicken the conscience by the holiness of God; to feed the mind with the truth of God; to purge the imagination by the beauty of God; to open the heart to the love of God; and to devote the will to the purpose of God.”

You mean it's not just that singing/music thing we do on Sunday mornings?! :-)

Great quote.

By the way. I don't know why my "follower" avatar is the way it is on your blog. I had never done that before, so I just kind of did what I thought was right. Don't know why it looks the way it does. Sorry.

dt and Julie,

Recently in church, after we had spent ten minutes in prayer and then read a passage from Isaiah, the music director came up and said, "Now let us turn our hearts toward worship." I was nauseous! What did he think had been going on?!?
