I thought the Greek myth of Sisyphus portrays being "confined". The story of the tricky king Sisyphus who is condemned by the gods to roll a large boulder up a steep hill - only before he reaches the top the boulder would always roll down to the base of the hill again thus forcing him to be confined to the task for eternity...

Great concept, I have a hill like this at home which I walk down to get to the surf, I've been walking back up it since 1989, about four times a week.... now I know why :)
The poor guy looks lost forever with that darn rock. neat interpretation for this week's IF.
I had a job that felt like that rock once.

This is such a good interpretation of confined! I didn't know this myth either and it sheds some light on a dream I have sometimes i.e. never quite getting to the end of what I'm doing before having to start over..! Thanks your for visit to my blog too.

Oy for real! Poor guy. And with such a heavy rock...a great metaphor for what life feels like sometimes-personally, professionally, physically, mentally. As soon as you think your near the top, you're back at the bottom. But you gotta keep pluggin' eh?! Nice work!

"Pushing a rock up a hill" is one of my favorite "business speak" terms to use at work. It's very fitting for a lot of what we work on, :)
yes, the gods punished sisyphus with a horrible and endless chore, but then again he was pretty horrible himself!
